MEET BRENDAN KISPERT

BRENDAN arrived at his headshot session looking calm, cool, and collected. The 19-year-old actor, represented by Kogen Management and Stewart Talent Agency, has such a natural presence in front of the camera. His acting training includes Take 2 Actor’s Studio and Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and he has performed with Northport Community Theatre, John Engeman Theatre, and his own high school theatre department. Brendan’s biggest creative influence is Marlon Brando, who is the reason he went to Stella Adler. His favorite Brando performance is in The Godfather and he loves how the seasoned actor’s unpredictability on the screen makes him captivating.

Brendan first took an interest in acting at around 13 years old, when he saw a peer in the high school musical portray Helen Keller in the play The Miracle Worker. He was blown away by this performance and wanted to act ever since. Though he gets stage fright from time to time, Brendan has learned that the key to calming nerves before a performance is to trust the preparation. To get in the zone, Brendan tries to make himself as zen and calm as possible, reminding himself of the circumstances of the scene and the character he is portraying.

The young actor just landed a role in a short film entitled Plastic Lips playing the character Michael, a young, naive college student who oozes confused testosterone, untested bravado, and false maturity. Michael's working a job in between semesters back home where he finds himself drawn to a person he can't be with. It will be exciting to see what this talented performer will bring to such an interesting character in this project.

To Brendan, the most rewarding part of acting is allowing people to escape for a couple of hours. His dream collaborator is Al Pacino because he admires Pacino’s ability to be so present in everything he is a part of. In 10 years, Brendan hopes to see himself on the silver screen, acting in projects that open people’s eyes to other perspectives of life. His advice to those just getting started in the industry is that the joy is in the doing. Brendan Kispert is an up-and-coming young talent that audiences should be keeping an eye out for. His passion for the craft of acting mixed with the energy he brings to a performance is sure to continuously land him a spot on the silver screen.
